Dear Citizens of Spring Hope:
     It is with great pleasure that I take this opportunity to update everyone on what is going on in our wonderful community.
     If you like outstanding county music entertainment, please mark your calendar for the following dates at the Spaulding Auditorium on South Pine St:  July 24th, August 1st, and August 14th.  All these events begin at 7 pm.
     Be sure to stay in town the weekend of October 2nd and 3rd for the annual Pumpkin Festival.  Come to the downtown area on Friday and Saturday for great food, music, fun, and the parade.
     Don’t forget to register to vote if you haven’t already done so.  You will be able to vote on Tuesday, November 3rd in the Spring Hope Municipal Elections.  Three commissioner’s seats and the mayor’s seat will be up for re-election.  Voting will take place at the Community Building located on W Main St behind the car wash.
     Over the next several months, the town will be undertaking the following projects: 

       A)    
N Poplar St is schedule to be paved by the NCDOT with funds
          secured thru Senator A.B. Swindell’s office;

       B)    
Bids will be received on July 21st for repair of several major
          potholes in town;
       C)     The town board will be deciding on what streets to pave this
          fall under the State Powell Bill Program;
       D)     The town’s grant for approximately $800,000 to repair and
          replace sewer lines and manholes will be completed in August

       E)    
Specifications will be prepared soon on the design for
          improvements to the town’s wastewater treatment plant.
     If you need some place to go this summer and you want to become involved in your community, then you have the following options from which to choose:

       A)    
Downtown Spring Hope Farmer’s Market is open every Tuesday &
          Friday from 8 until noon (or until sold out);
       B)     The Board of Commissioners meeting is held every 2nd Monday
          night of the month at 7 pm at the town hall;
  
    C)    The Community Watch Program is presented by the Spring Hope
          Police Dept on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 pm at the town
          hall;

       D)    
The town’s Planning Commission meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each
          month at 6 pm at the town hall;

       E)    
The local Chamber of Commerce meets on the 4th Monday of each
           month at 6 pm at the Chamber of Commerce office;

       F)    
The downtown Revitalization Committee meets on the 4th Tuesday
          of each month at 6 pm at the town hall.
